Prints

To start, I usually consider direction and scale, sketching in pencil before moving into gouache or digital design. I can work from original documents or create from scratch. Once the artwork is developed, it’s cleaned and laid out in Photoshop or Illustrator, where I create color separations and call-outs for specification.

I possess a breadth of capacity and enjoy switching modes, creating what is needed — whether that be a tight geo, intricate botanical, or abstract stripe sequence. I produce pixel-perfect color separations and can design for apparel or home decor. In woven work, I design through structure, using plain weave and fine twill variations to create subtle tonal texture within a single color palette.

Rugs

My approach to rug design begins with the same foundations as my textile work—scale, rhythm, and color—but with added attention to how a design functions within a room. I think in terms of field and border, negative space, and how a pattern lives in an environment, rather than as a simple repeat. While these are conceptual works, they are created with an understanding that rug designs must ultimately adapt to specific constructions and materials.

These designs explore how graphic structure, an appreciation of diverse cultures and textile history, and texture derived from refined drawing processes translate into floor-based works. The goal is to create designs that anchor a space, bring visual coherence, and feel intentional within a lived environment.
